COURSE OBJECTIVES
Introduce students to the technology of 3D Printing.
Help them understand it's place amongst the conventional types of manufacturing.
Walk them through the history of 3D Printing and then provide an outline of the current processes of 3D Printing.
FFF or Fused Filament Fabrication is the most basic type of 3D Printing.
It is also favored as the hobbyist go-to type of manufacturing of idea-to-design-to-product.
Students will be introduced to the workflow of FFF Technology.
Then there will be a tutorial of software settings for printing the part.
Students can print example files and their own designs* (subject to printer conditions and tutor's approval).
In order to complete their program, they will have to pass a theory + practical exam.
Upon completion of the basic course, they will be given a brief introduction of Figure 4 technology and how the advanced program of 3D Systems will shift the gears forward in their careers.
