Graduated in B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) from HBTI, Kanpur.-Joined IOCL in 1993 and acquired functional experience of 29+ years, working extensively in Operations, Technical Services & HSE functions at various refinery locations prior to joining the present position of Executive Director (Petrochemicals).
In his present assignment, he is responsible for marketing of all Petrochemical products of Indian Oil and its’ New Petrochemical initiatives.

Mr. Dixit was Chairman of CII Telangana for 2022-2023 after heading Panel Skill Development & Education for the State Panel for 3 years and being Vice Chairman for 2021-2022 and currently Chairs the Public Policy Task-force for CII Telangana.
Mr. Makarand has more than 30 years of experience in petrochemicals business. He has worked and shouldered responsibility in petrochemicals business & is exposed to all facets of the business i.e. from getting finance for the project to the launching of products in the domestic and international markets.
His career started in 1989 in Oswal Petrochemicals before moving onto Reliance industries in 1990. He rose to become General Manager-Marketing in 2006. After which, he worked with Indorama's Nigerian acquisition "Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals" as a head of Marketing and successfully established their products in the most adverse conditions. In his last stint he was working as Head Marketing at ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL) a company promoted by ONGC with an project outlay of almost 5B USD or more than Rs 30000 Cr. Currently he is working as Head Marketing Petrochemicals at Nayara Energy Limited who have ambitious plans for foray in Petrochemicals arena.
Mr. Makarand is a postgraduate of Organic Chemistry from Pune University & has done his MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management with Marketing as a specialization.
He has presented papers at number of International and national forums. His globetrotting past and ardent book reading has exposed him to various cultures which he beneficially uses in his work and daily life. An avid sports lover - his commitment to team and team work comes straight from the cricket fields as he has represented Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy for more than 7 years.
